Hello Nikki

I wonder if you remember me – a colleague from Business Masters.

I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you that I find value in your blog. I (like no doubt everyone else) get inundated with stuff to read, and it becomes a matter that one is forced to pick and choose what newsletters, blogs and sites one interacts with (or merely just reads). I just wanted to reach out with a friendly greeting to tell you that I actually have begun to read your blog regularly. Well done, and thank you for the effort you put into it. I don’t always agree with what you write, and seldom have the time to formulate a cogent counterargument, but it never fails to be thought provoking and thereby stimulates growth.

Thanks and Greetings

I have had the opportunity to work with Nikki Viljoen for a number of years, in my capacity as both Head of Enterprise Development at Standard Bank and CEO of Enterpriseroom.

In both situations, we called on Nikki to support the emerging enterprises we had brought onto our Enterprise Development  programmes. Nikki always worked very well with the enterprises and their owners, and is fastidious about making sure they understand, and properly tackle, the compliance, systems and administrative challenges businesses face.

We have also used Nikki’s training sessions and workshops as they provide useful, concise and practical tools to deal with issues facing start ups and SMMEs.

Importantly, Nikki is reliable and cares a great deal about her work and her clients.

Yours faithfully

Nikki and I met towards the end of 2008 during a formal network meeting.  We both attended these meetings for our respective businesses and got to know each other during these meetings and individual meetings between ourselves.

Nikki is well known among her peers and the businesses that participate in these network events.  Nikki and her business are respected by the business owners attending these meetings and her professional opinion were often asked and listened to.   Nikki is renowned for her professional service to her clients and most important her very honest manner she communicate to her clients what they need to know and do to make their business compliant.

My interactions with Nikki was not just business but I also got to know her as a friend and met with her socially as well.  Her character trait that truly impressed me is her compassion for people that truly need support in terms of emotional support and frank objective advice.

I consider Nikki a friend, a colleague and someone that will always be honest with anyone but not lose her compassion.  I will and have referred clients to Nikki with confidence and will carry on doing so.

TOURISM ENERPRISE PARTNERSHIP WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH VILJOEN CONSULTING

The Tourism Enterprise Partnership (TEP) is a 13 year old Non-Profit Company (NPC) that utilises funding from Corporate South Africa and Government to facilitate the growth, development and sustainability of small tourism businesses in South Africa with the aim of Job Creation, Transformation and Sustainability.

Through knowledge gained over a number of years, TEP devised a strategy to improve the way in which we analyse our small tourism business clients. The aim was to thoroughly understand the individual businesses – its strengths, opportunities and weaknesses in order to create an impactful tailor-made development plan.

TEP identified Nikki Viljoen as a business analyst specialist and contracted Viljoen Consulting to assist us with the creation of a Development Needs Analysis (DNA) in 2011. Nikki’s development and alignment of relative questions and delivery, within sometimes unrealistic deadlines, was superb. Nikki not only has incredible knowledge regarding business operations, legalities, finances, etc. but also has excellent intuitive insight into the entrepreneur themselves.

Nikki is obviously passionate about people and business development and her strongest attribute is a no-nonsense attitude. She went above and beyond the contract in ensuring that we have the necessary understanding of how and why to conduct a successful needs analysis. Her guidance and advice has made a definite difference in TEP and her networking skills, and sharing those networks with TEP, is just another example of her dedication and passion.

TEP highly recommends working with Nikki and Viljoen Consulting and would make use of her services, without a doubt, if and when possible in the future.

Please feel free to contact me should you require more information.

Kind regards

Testimonial Nikki Viljoen

Standard Bank Small Enterprises Division developed a new set of offerings for the South African market in 2011/2012. These offerings included solutions for:
•    Businesses in start-up phase
•    Lifestyle businesses
•    Growth Entrepreneurs
An important component of each was helping to get the right information and know how to these businesses in a practical and cost effective manner. A process was followed by the team to identify potential solution providers for services of this nature. We selected Nikki Viljoen as our primary service provider to support practical business tools and know-how, including to support webinars that were being run on a regular basis. We also partnered with Nikki on business seminars to her extensive Small business networks as well as to new businesses joining Standard Bank.
Nikki’s extensive knowledge, easy to use tips and tools have been a great success. The webinars have grown from strength to strength and customer feedback has been very positive. It is the practical, no-nonsense solutions that help entrepreneurs to manage real day to day challenges and legislation (like hiring and firing staff, registering your business, etc) that proved to be most valuable.
Nikki’s no nonsense approach, profession work style, many years of experience and strong SME support networks were value adding over and above the specific work we contracted.

February 2014

I first met Nikki over 10 years ago, in a large group training session.

Whenever she spoke, it was immediately clear she has this unique ability to see through all the peripheral data or information given to us and grasp the core issues, in most cases before the rest of us!

This ability makes her infinitely suitable for the career path she has followed, providing both job satisfaction to herself and huge benefits to her clients.

I cannot think of Nikki without words like; integrity, reliable, dedicated and tenacious – springing to my mind.

I have no hesitation in recommending Nikki to any company, that requires her unique skills and services.

I am confident that the issues she identifies and helps you to correct, within your company, in reality pay for her services many times over.

yours sincerely,

Nikki Viljoen has worked with our Enterprise Development unit for the last few years in implementing business development support to some of our SME clients.

We have continuously received numerous positive feedbacks in terms how her tools have assisted these SMEs to instil a culture of proper financial management in their businesses.

We believe that the SME sector requires more of business developmenst service providers like herself to assist in the growth and sustainability of the SMEs in our country.
