Your Business Magazine

Hi Nikki, Here is the long-awaited testimonial; just wanted to give Liz an opportunity to add her two cents. Nikki is a regular contributor in Your Business Magazine and her insight and expertise is greatly appreciated by our readers. Nikki has written on a broad spectrum of business administration and finance topics – from cash control and debt collection through to overall budgeting and planning. She manages to bring her wit and humour into sometimes “dry” subjects, and her passion for what she does is clear to all. She is a great asset to our publication and we look forward to what else she has in store for us in future issues. Also, I wrote up a formal brief on the setting up systems article that you are putting together – you may want to have a read through. I wasn’t very clear on what aspects to cover so if you have already worked on it then we can always add additional info from our side – it is a very broad topic. Setting up systems   When your business consists of just a handful of people, it’s easy to keep things informal. However, as you grow, it becomes increasingly important to have the right systems in place – whether it be your financial records, your customer contacts or how your staff complete leave forms – there comes a point where policies and procedures for how things are done are necessary. This article helps the small business owner to:   -Evaluate their current infrastructure and operating procedures -Assess deficiencies and how they can be addressed -Implement systems and practices that will benefit the business and enhance the value of the business. -Document “how things work” so that new-joiners can be brought up to speed   Thanks and chat soon, Nicole Canning Features Editor Your Business www.bizmag.co.za 021 409 7939
